Just a note to say how pleased I am with the results achieved with the Chipex product.
I took a 2000/X Porsche Boxter into stock which had very bad ‘road rash’ on the front bumper plus some small chips on the rear bumper.
After about 30-40 minutes using Chipex, the vehicle was ‘ready for retail’ -without the need to paint the bumpers.
This saved approximately £350.00. The car was sold the next weekend.
I am always skeptical of these kinds of products but was pleased to be proved wrong on this occasion! I will certainly be using Chipex again and will recommend it to other dealers as an effective way of reducing vehicle preparation costs.
Yours Faithfully,
Graeme Kilby – Director - Hurlingham Motor Company Ltd
I'd figured I would let you have some feedback about the use of your kit. To cut a long story short I'm favourably impressed!
To be honest I didn't initially expect wonders on a metallic paint, because I know from experience that it's much easier to repair chips on a solid non-metallic paint.
That being said the result is much better than using the Porsche proprietary touch up brush.
From certain angles the repairs are not visible at all. I will recommend your kit on Porsche forums I'm contributing to

Just a note to say thanks for introducing Chipex to the Mazda network, I hope other dealers are using it as successfully as we are. A great product that works like magic, saving hard cash with beautifully colour-matched paint repairs carried out in-house.
Our chief valet, Lee, who is something of a perfectionist, demonstrated what Chipex could do for the bonnet of a badly stone chipped Mazda2. The results were amazing to say the least. I honestly could not see where the chips had been.
Most cars that go through the Service Department have a minor chip here and there but customers associate body repairs with prohibitive prices. Here, Chipex can excel and fill a much needed gap.

Congratulations Chipex.
At last we have an alternative to the unsightly “blob of nearly matching paint” that was previously the only method of repairing stone chippings and other minor paint damage.
Having undertaken the repair of a stone chipping and small but visible scratch on a wheel arch (super market trolley I suspect) I am amazed at the result. Of course I know where they were, but I have to really look hard and get the light in the right place to detect any of my work – Chipex is that good. Anyone else would be most unlikely notice this work.

After a discussion on the Aston Martin section of Pistonheads about how to cover up stone chips I came across a company called Chipex.
I received my product last week, 25th may and finally got to attend to the pebble rash on the rear arches of my Meteorite Silver Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
I followed the clear instructions using the finger method to rub the paint over the affected area and then remove the excess with the solution. I did this process twice as I missed a couple of bit. Once finished I applied the polish, job done J
All I can say is well done Chipex. Great product, well packaged and it just works, see the before and after photos below:

After years of hating the results of chip repairs using the ubiquitous touch up pens, but I guess better than seeing the chip, I was totally amazed at the results of repairing the chips on my Ferrari 328 yesterday using your Chipex system. It is impossible to identify where the chips had originally been - a completely flawless repair and colour matched perfectly. Car looks new again even though it's 23 years old.

I will be in touch next week to obtain kits for my other cars once I have the paint codes!!
Once again many thanks

I brought the Chipex product wondering if I would really get a good product for £50? Well I can safely say the answer is YES. I have an Espresso Black SAAB 93, so any old black touch up would not work, and with those touch up paints you always get blobs. But this product you actually get your paint colour via the paint code of your car. (and plenty of paint you get too)
Upon receiving the kit (all nicely boxed and very fast delivery) I read the very easy to follow instructions and tried my luck on a stone ship to warm myself up..., which worked really well, but it is the Road rash chips that is
were this products is even more amazing. Covering you bonnet in in a thin
layer of paint is not for the weak hearted, and does look a mess once applied, but keep the faith, because after wiping clean with the blending
solution and then waxing with the pigment wax the result was amazing, hardly any marks left, 100% better than before – which makes the £50 seem such a bargain especially since I was playing with the idea of respraying the effected panels at a high price, which I have no need to do now.
I cannot praise this product enough...wish it was around on my old cars,
because I have spent many a day touching up chips with blobby old paint and thin brushes, with still not being happy after the result. With this new product I won't ‘cringe’ now every time I hear a stone hit the front of my car, or drive over a newly gritted road, because I know that Chipex is at home waiting to hide those marks.
If you're thinking about purchasing this product, don’t think; buy as you won't
be disappointed.

I ordered the ChipEx system for my car, having previously researched a number of alternative products. What attracted me was the methodology and the approach - and in particular the colour match. Once I ordered the product, it arrived the following day - very prompt! I opened the box to find three bottles of considerable size - more than enough to deal with any damage from chips etc. even deep chips. At the weekend I set to work, cleaning and drying the car before I moved into my garage, and under a bright light proceeded to apply the solution, using the side of my thumb to remove any bubbles of paint as per the instructions. It dried very fast, and then the cleaning fluid removed any trace of remaining liquid. Finally I finished off with the colour matched polish.
A couple of observations - 1, it's very hard to see where you've made the corrections - even after stage 1. A bright light is very useful - and it also means the colour match is perfect. 2; My wife, who previously noticed some of the stone chips after I'd detailed the car, couldn't see them after I'd finished !
So - great product, reasonably priced, and does wonders for the look of your car. Coupled with the prompt delivery and great service - I can't argue. Thanks!

Paint chips on your car bodywork are an inevitable consequence of today’s motoring. Over a period of years I have tried all sorts of ways and products for carrying out an acceptable repair.
I read about Chipex in a motoring magazine and thought it must be worth a try.
It comes with colour matched paint, a blender and a polish. As with all paint chip repairs a little patience is needed and the instructions that come with the kit should be followed.
It's good, it works and it is far more forgiving than traditional methods of paint repair. If you drive a lot you will acquire lots of chips and become very skilled at using this product very quickly. The colour match and the finish are good.

Been itching to try this kit out since it showed up on Saturday, but what with the weather and other goings on I haven't had time until now. I've just finished touching up 4 or 5 chips on my car (many more to go
) and have to say the kit is very good.
The first thing that impressed me was straight forward process, this didn't stop me reading the steps 2 or 3 times though just so I was 100% on exactly what I needed to do (being a novice at this stuff the last thing I wanted was to miss a small but vital step just because I was rushing at the job like a numpty) Then i had a look at the colour of the paint (not much point in carrying on if this isn't right) and it was spot on
I hope you're paying attention Seat dealers!!!!
So I applied the paint to the freshly prepared area and after I was happy I allowed it to dry for a few minutes (didn't take too long as it was pretty warm out) then I removed the excess paint with the blending solution taking special care not to apply too much pressure (as the instructions say the solution really does do the work so don't be tempted to be too heavy handed) once again when I was happy I let this settle for a few minutes before applying the polish.
Then I applied a small amount of polish to the area and allowed it to stand for a few minutes before buffing off, stepping back and admiring my handy work
That really is all there is to it, most of the time is spent waiting for the paint or the solution to dry before moving to the next step. A couple of the stone chips were quite deep which requires repeating the first two steps until you build up the paint level enough.
All in all a very well designed and easy kit to use and I would recommend it to anybody who needs to repair the dreaded stone chips on their car, especially before they opt for the cheaper but ultimately messy and poor finish of a touch up stick from the dealers (I've used them before and won't be using them ever again now). With a steady hand and patience you can get really good results with this, I have to admit that once or twice upon returning to the car during the drying process I had trouble locating the area I was working on as the paint match is that good!
Big thumbs up from me
and with the group discount I would urge anybody who is toying with the idea to get in there now.
The ChipEx stone chip repair system....
Having been given the opportunity my Johnny at CHIPEX to try one of their Stone chip repair kits, I must say I am impressed...
The kit arrives in a very well presented box, with everything you would need to perform the task ahead. Inside the box you find 3 fair size containers, clearly marked with the contents and the step number.
Container 1 is the paint, colour matched to you own cars paint code, so you are sure of a good match with the original colour...
Container 2 is the blender, once the paint is touch dry; this removes the excess, and smoothens the finish level with the surrounding area.
Container 3 is the polish, this again, is colour matched to your car, and gives an excellent polished finish to the repair...
In addition you get a cloth to put the polish on, and a micro fibre cloth to polish it off, a paint brush, a couple of micro brushes, and last but not least a pair of gloves... plus excellent clear instructions..
So, as the weather was excellent today, I thought I would give it an initial try on one area of my car, a scratch about 20mm long on the front bumper...

After 20-25 mins using the system, I am sure that you will agree the results are excellent, and worth the £49.99 that is charged for this package... I think I will just give the scratch another couple of coats of paint, just to finish it off, but from standing height, it is now invisible unless you look close.

Bear in mind you have more than enough products to last a long time, and do many, many repairs, it is not just a couple of chips and empty...
I can 100% recommend this system, I am no painter, but It is very easy to get excellent results. I can assure you these are genuine results, not trick or photo editing
Give it a try.....

Hello.
Just a quick update to thank you on the super-fast delivery. The procedure was tougher on my soft office worker hands than I was expecting but the results are great.
Attached are a couple of pictures you can use as I am very impressed with the results after just one application.

I'm a proud owner of a 1998 Dakar Yellow E36 M3 Evo and always try to keep it looking its best. After being showered by a grit lorry a few years ago, it sustained a few irritating chip marks. I assumed the only way to get rid of them was to take a trip to the body shop (I'd never even considered touch up sticks!). I stumbled upon 'Chipex' in an issue of Performance BMW magazine (purely by accident) and after a bit of research and good reviews from others I thought I'd give it a shot. Naturally, I was very nervous when it came to applying the paint for the first time, so I tried it out on a hidden area, which I must say worked very well! I applied it again to the bad chip marks and guess what - it worked! It doesn't even matter if you make a mistake because you can remove any unwanted paint with the blending solution so you can't lose really. I'm now working on the whole front bumper, which as you can imagine has been stone chipped pretty badly. It's also worth mentioning that the paint that Chipex supply you with goes a very long way as well! 100% recommended!

Hello
Used your Chipex kit over the weekend following a review in Auto Express, to which I subscribe.
I must say I am very impressed with the system and am now intending to remove all the existing chip repair paint previously applied to my car, so as to replace it with your system.
I am more than happy to recommend the system to my fellow SeatCupra.net forum members but do have one criticism; the kit does not contain sufficient Blending Formula, I did try to use it sparingly as instructed but have now almost ran out and this seems a shame as I have nearly all the paint and polish left. Is the solution available as a separate purchase? If so how can I order some?
Many thanks
Jon Pope
Johnny,
I thought it appropriate to let you have some feedback on the Chip Repair Kit purchased from you.
The vehicle I purchased the kit for is a BMW and the first thing to say is that the paint actually matches the colour of the car - BMW's own touch up kits and aerosols do not!!
Your kit is easy to use with comprehensive instructions and provides excellent results. I am so pleased with the product that I have purchased a second kit for my other "pride and joy"!!
With first class customer service and an excellent product I would recommend your system to anyone looking to keep their paintwork in tip top condition.
Kind regards
Dave
Dear Chipex,
After reading a recent article about your paint repair product and looking up the item on your web site I purchased a system for my silver Mazda.
The product arrived the next day and as advertised included everything I needed, in fact the amount and quality of the paint was much more than expected and after waiting what seemed like weeks for a day of better weather I finally managed to use the kit with great success today.
Following the very simple instructions I managed in a very short time to paint over some stone chips with an ease that I have never experienced using manufacturer’s standard touch up paints or any other for that matter. In the past it has been a very ‘hit and miss affair’ with these other products sometimes leaving a repair that was worse than the chip you were trying to cover up. You never really seemed to get the paint in the right place and mistakes took ages to polish out sometimes making the damage more obvious than before you started.
You seem to have given the kit a lot of thought and I like the tools included for applying the paint which are themselves, a great leap forward from the thick or too skinny brush attached to other touch up paints.
The greatest thing about your system is how you can try a repair, safe in the knowledge that if you’re unhappy with the end result the included blending solution will remove the mistake and let you have another go without affecting the surrounding area. Fantastic!
It must be said that with a little practise, again the blending solution allows this; the end results on what is a very difficult colour are outstanding and it’s good to know that you can go over a repair, building up the paint getting it just right.
I wish you all great success with the product
Many thanks,
With Kind Regards,
Mr. Steven Sartori
"I have been trying for some time to get some touch up paint but nobody has, until now, been able to match my Magenta paint from the code on the VIN plate. I tried Halfords and a number of paint specialists exhibiting at various shows.
At the Classic Car Show last November I saw these people, Chipex http://www.chipex.co.uk/ and spoke to Jonny Graham. He said 'no problem of course we can match your colour', I thought 'Ho hum been here before'.
I gave him the paint code from the VIN plate and while it wasn't straight forward, his Technical Director was able to establish the correct formulation.
Just tried it yesterday on the first of the stone chips and lo and behold an exact match. I'm very pleased. So i think this is/can be a good option if you are having trouble in matching you paint.
Usual caveats I'm not involved etc.
Norman"
